A message from the District of Lillooet Fire Chief, Darren Oike.

Out of an abundance of caution, the District of Lillooet has been placed on Evacuation Alert status by the BC Wildfire Service.

This is NOT an Evacuation Order.

It is important for you to revisit your family preparedness plans. Do you have a meeting place? An agreed method of contacting each other? Is any member of the family going to require assistance should an Order come in? Is your 72 Hour kit ready – medications, glasses, important documents? Do you have a plan for livestock and pets?

Business owners, have you revisited your business continuity plan? If not, now is a great time to do so!

Hopefully, the weather will be in our favour and this Alert will be short lived. We will continue to provide updates as best we can.
